I was waiting for someone to bring that up. My brother owns one. he bought it new back in 1997. It's purple and I think there's only like 500 of them. Anyway, it's on it's 4th set of front fenders.

Set 1 - Lasted 800 miles. LF cracked and fell off. Both replaced under warranty (redesign)
Set 2 - Lasted until 2,000 miles. Same problem as set 1. Replaced under warranty (redesign)
Set 3 - Lasted until 2,500 miles and the RF flew off during a rain storm. Replaced under warranty (redesign)
Set 4 - Still on it today (car has 11K on it). Both had stress cracks and he spent the winter (because Prowlers are not everyday cars but only to be used for weekends and car shows) reinforcing them with aluminum sheet and tig welded in inserts. So far, they are fine.

I told him those fenders were going to be a problem. I think the joke got old about 10 years ago. So now all it does is just sits in the garage and driven probably 3 times in the summer. BTW, go to a group of Prowler owners, you will be reprimanded if you ever touch a fender. I talked to him yesterday and those fenders were $800 each when Chrysler still made them. Today, someone makes them aftermarket because they are NLA.

If you talk to my brother, the Prowler fenders was not a crowing achievement but a nightmare. He's had it for just over 20 years and is the typical Prowler owner. Low miles and rarely driven. As we all know the Elio will be seeing 20K per year for everyday use and driven in the winter. It's a completely different beast as opposed to that Prowler which most are garage queens.
Yikes! Paul, I hope you get the design part of the fenders right!!!

I never realized that there are thousands of Arcimotos out there and they will be going through the winter season in areas like where I live. Good to see how the work out in those sub zero temperatures and 6+ inches of snow. Then spring when we have pothole filled roads. Good R&D for Elio as they have the same exact fender.

You do realize that the Arcimoto is not going to be seeing the mileage and all weather conditions that the Elio will see. Show me people that are cranking out 20K per year in all 4 seasons (where places get all 4 seasons) and I'll be a believer.
My statement didn't disagree with what you said. It was just a statement. That being said...
I don't see why these won't see the same mileage and weather conditions that the Elio would.
Arcimoto is finishing testing the enclosure designs and owners are racking up the miles as I type.
They've already shown that the FUV does well in snow and most potential owners plan on proving it.

How the fenders of both vehicles will hold up remains to be seen. Agree, there could be problems.

Travelbuzz Thank you for putting us back on track, but you have a few too many numbers, so it makes it confusing.
Can we stick with the simple style please?

Elio Motors Selects Alpine 4 For Product, Manufacturing And Engineering Resources
Agreement Provides, Startup Fuel Efficient Vehicle Manufacturer Alpine 4's 6th Sense Auto™ Product Platform, BrakeActive Safety Device, Data Sharing
PR Newswire

PHOENIX, Feb. 2, 2017

PHOENIX, Feb. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Alpine 4 Technologies Ltd. (OTCQB: ALPP), a technology and manufacturing holding company initially targeting the national automobile dealership market, announced today that it has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Elio Motors Inc. (OTCQX: ELIO) to provide the innovative high mileage vehicle manufacturer its 6th Sense Auto™ and BrakeActive products, as well as related manufacturing, data sharing and engineering resources.

Elio Motors, based in Phoenix, is a high-profile startup vehicle manufacturer planning to launch an ultra-efficient, two-person three-wheel vehicle, the Elio, that will get up to 84 mpg with a set base price of $7,300*. The Elio, to be sold initially in the U.S. market, will be built at a former General Motors plant in Shreveport, LA. More than 64,000 customer reservations have been recorded for the Elio and the Company anticipates commercial mass production to begin in 2018.

Strong current demand is reflected by over 64,000 customer reservations. Management anticipates assembling the 100 S1 prototypes for real-world evaluation during 2017 with commercial mass production to follow in 2018.

The LOI between Alpine 4 and Elio Motors also includes the sharing of such things as sales data and user acceptance, and all data collected from the cloud-based 6th Sense Auto System. 6th Sense Auto is designed for the modern "connected car" and collects data on such things as inventory management, engine diagnostics, service maintenance and personalized customer support through wireless software.

BrakeActive is an innovative, high-margin aftermarket programmable brake-light safety device. Its technology improves a vehicle's third brake light in order to substantially reduce or prevent rear-end collisions. According to the National Highway Safety Administration, rear-end collisions can be reduced by 90 percent if trailing vehicles have one additional second to react. BrakeActive assists in providing that extra time to react.

"We are putting together a team of world-class suppliers that are helping us meet our stringent cost, fuel efficiency, safety and performance goals," said Paul Elio, CEO of Elio Motors. "To create the most advanced vehicles on the global market in terms of modern engineering, rider comforts and fuel efficiency, we need suppliers like Alpine 4's subsidiary ALTIA and their cloud-based innovations and safety products."

Both the Sixth Sense Auto product platform and the BrakeActive products are manufactured and engineered in-house by Alpine 4's subsidiary ALTIA.

"Creating a business relationship with an OEM vehicle manufacturer like Elio Motors is an important milestone for Alpine 4," said Alpine 4 CEO Kent B. Wilson. "Our goal is to provide our product portfolio to a variety of customers in the automotive industry. We are very excited to be working with such an important and high-profile company like Elio Motors, which promises to be a world leader in the high-efficiency subcompact market."

882 shares traded.
Not even 1000 shares traded. Looks like we are doing the stock manipulation scheme again. Trade a few hundred to bump up the number. What we need is to see something in the range of 20K. There should be movement because Eliocoin being issued and Ford supplying the powertrain, saving the company $125M. That's big news, yet no interest.
