Welcome to the forum!
To answer...."in the past" may have been 50. but, IIRC New(er) regulation says 350 units to be a company. But, don't know if that even applies to an "autocycle" company.
Because "timing is everything", EM received a unique opportunity when the old GM plant came available. Tell me, how could they pass that up? Yes, It seems to be an ALL or NOTHING situation. Not our baby. But it is EM taking (most) all of the risk, and "we" will be reaping the benefits. If they only built 350 I certainly would NOT have a chance to own one. And It would not fulfill Paul's mission for starting this company. The high volume and low price point have also been planned to discourage competition. We just need a little more patience. :D
Dear Lord, I need patience. GIVE ME SOME NOW!

FLASH! This just in, Mercedes Benz has announced a partnership with Weinerschnitzel to repair cars at the local Hot Dog haunt. New spokesman Gene Wilder remarked, "It's Alive!"

i'm still waiting for something to happen because I'm getting tried of waiting. Hearing everyone talk about color, options, productions numbers or t shirts is missing the point because it doesn't matter if there are no cars made. in the past a car company had to product 50 cars to be called a car company. Why hasn't Eilo taken this first step. If you look at the history of car companies there have been many so called car companies that only made from 1 to less then 10 cars and called themselves car makers , that were looking for financial backing and went bust after a year or two. They all had the dream of producing the best design but that never happened. Is this the case with Eilo I hate to think so. If they can produce 3 then they can make 50 this would reassure the public they were a real car company. The cost may be higher then projected ,but that's ok because we all know that the more you produce the lower the cost will be. Let's hear from Eilo why this hasn't happened.

this line of thinking comes up every once in a while and with this forum being completely separate from EM, we haven't had the inside info necessary to know EM's position .... consequently, a couple of days ago when the tour was in Shreveport, I asked .... the response was, they could do so at any time .... they are building 25 E series right now, they could convert some to production models and add a few more .... the problem is, doing so would most likely not create the desired result .... those prone to being anti EM, frustrated, haters, trolls, or any other leanings in that direction would deride them for not doing more .... EM would be accused of putting on a show, of not being a real company that could produce vehicles in numbers, of doing just enough to keep the money coming in, and so on .... bottom line, doing so would waste time, money and resources .... they are determined to do it right and start production when everything is in place to produce sufficient numbers of high quality trikes to start meeting the demands of the market .... personally, I prefer dealing with folks with that level of commitment ....

personal observation, they might entertain something like this if a person or persons advocating them making a short run would pony up the mega bucks it would take to do so ....:noidea:
