I read the article earlier in the week. I knew the author had not done their research at that time.
I found this picture a fellow had posted, It makes more sense to me, the little trailer can be dressed up with small chrome wheels a tongue jack and car topper painted to mach Elio cheaply..I like the way the topper fits the trailer..Bet all could be done for under a thousand bucks to look like a million..

3 Card, quite a few folks have used those, or similar trailers, for behind their motorcycles. It's a great option and one I have considered for the Elio and my bike.

Ty, nice find. That is a real option for a sturdy, reliable trailer. Now, to paint the panels Creamsicle. :-)

I was trying to be funny in my first post, of some using the trailering option to get their Elio from point to point (like RVs).

The picture 3 Card posted, to my understanding, is an artist's conception drawing. There is no trailer that looks like that and my understanding is there are no plans for a factory trailer hitch option. But, I've been wrong before.
Artist conception is one way of saying it. Fan created fantasy would be more accurate.

It was the lightest one I found that looked sturdy. I'd rather it be much more aerodynamic though.

Actually it can be done for less than $500.

Don't know why any one would be worried about anything "sturdier". You'd have a real hard time breaking it.

Here's one guys list I KNOW I can beat this:
Trailer 149.99
Cargo carrier 116.19
Trailer tongue tubing 52.76
LED lights 136.92
Paint 54.48
Spare tire 37.98
Total 548.32

PS... the "tongue tubing" was because he built a cooler mount on the tongue in front of the carrier. Drop that and there's your under $500

That's cool.. What is the width of the car topper ?..The only thing I would add other than fancy wheels is a tongue jack..

Hey Roger, that is ideal! My choice is this one so I can bring along some necessities on my cross-country tour while staying in luxury hotels.........cause I'm to old to camp.
