509 career TD passes by Manning .... that football is headed to the Hall of Fame ..:)

Jim

There are three teams in the league that always have a chance to win the game, if their QB is healthy. Denver, New England and Green Bay. Defense can be playing badly, team can't run the ball, doesn't matter. And I honestly think that in most Denver games, if you spotted Denver 17 pts, Manning would figure out a way to win the game.

Indy thanks Andrew Luck on a daily basis for being as good as he is, and they should thank the powers that be that decided to draft him. Else, Indy would be doing massive teeth-gnashing at letting Manning go.

Seattle is now 3-3, 3rd in their division, didn't see that coming. Denver thrashes the 49ers. Dallas beats the Giants. KC with a huge road division win to keep their slim division hopes and playoff hopes alive. What's happened to the Bengals? Colts beat them soundly. Cleveland lets Jax walk all over them. The Bills find a way to win, led by Kyle Orton. Bears can't win at home, lose to Miami, Cutler has a bad game. Brees throws a late interception for New Orleans and the Lions win to move to 5-2, without Megatron. Packers killed the Panthers. Arizona thumps the Raiders to move to 5-1. In the "who cares" game of the day, Washington nips Tennessee. (apologies to all Redskin and Titan fans). And Atlanta loses to Baltimore, as things look good for the Ravens, not good for the Falcons.

Texans and Steelers tonight. Winner goes to 4-3, loser goes to 3-4.

Best NFC teams in no particular order: Ariz, Dallas, Phil, Det, Green Bay. Best AFC teams in no order: Denver, New England, Balt, Indy, San Diego.

I'd add Philip Rivers to that list .... on any given day, he's capable of picking up the Chargers and carrying them past most any other team .... I hope tonight's Texans VS Steelers (both teams 3 & 3) turns out to be a good one

If college football talk is allowed here, the first edition of the top 4 playoff teams is supposed to appear tomorrow. I'm guessing that at the end of the season it will be Alabama, FSU, Miss State or Miss (whichever wins the egg bowl), and Oregon. The AP poll is increasingly irrelevant. The voters are lazy and just install teams from last year's rankings, regardless of circumstances. How could the pre-season poll rank S.C. #9 when their half dozen top players left for the NFL and they were left without a capable QB and not a single player on the pre-season first or second string All-SEC team?

You bet, college football talk is good here too! I hear ya on the AP poll losing it's relevance. I for one am SO GLAD they are doing a playoff, even if it is only 4 teams. Mike Golic on ESPN2 and ESPN radio recently said he's ready to make it 8 teams. Years ago I was saying how they could fill in the early December weekends with the first few rounds of a 16 or 32 team tournament. Then have the existing bowl games take up the final games, just as they're doing for the 4-team set up now for 3 bowl games. I know they are rotating the games over 6 bowl games these first 3 years, IIRC.

How 'bout them Cowboys?!?

Cowboys are looking really good Neal. Since the loss to SF in Week 1, beating everyone placed before them, including a big win at Seattle obviously. Just need to keep Murray from fumbling, Romo from throwing INTs, the O-line from allowing sacks, and that defense playing just well enough. But the defense did have two really amazing showings, Seattle and New Orleans.
