As posted above, this event is "SOLD OUT" months before the event each year. No way to get in. However the Elio will be available to San Diego folks away from the convention center.

They did say somewhere there would be an Elio inside, and one outside. Hopefully, someone with-out a ticket can see the one outside. If there are too many people, maybe it will still be hard to get to sit in it, maybe not. Most people will be very intent on the Convention so maybe not too hard?

Reservation numbers should be very interesting to watch for the next several weeks and months as we have several major events coming up back to back as well as major vehicle development milestones on the way.

Comic-Con should provide Elio Motors with some very good exposure as there will be about 150,000 people on site plus a lot of media coverage. The following week is a Barrett Jackson auction which always have a lot of car people on hand, wealthy bidders which could be potential investors, and loads of auto industry media. Then two weeks after that is the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit which is a huge event with all the auto industry players and auto industry media in attendance along with over one million attendees.

In the next few weeks we should also be hearing about the new engine being tested. The P5 build is expected to begin in the Aug/Sept timeframe followed quickly by E series pre-production models beginning to be built. If all goes according to plan before the end of the year we could even see crash testing and/or road testing of several pre-production vehicles at once.

All this activity should expose a lot of new people to Elio Motors, garner a lot of media attention, and also get some of the lurkers to climb off the fence and jump in.

Elio Motors' aerodynamically styled 3-wheeled prototype will be used to chauffer celebrities from the Hard Rock Hotel to various events throughout Comic-Con weekend, July 24-27. During the rides, GeekNation will interview celebrities for a series of videos to be posted to GeekNation.com. The route will take the vehicle through the heavily trafficked Gaslamp Quarter in Downtown San Diego.

Ok, I take back what I said in a previous post about Comic-Con being a dumb venue. This is marketing genious at it's best. The exposure should put our vehicle out there for all to see. Too bad the production engine and vehicle aren't ready. Love the Geek Nations article.
