OK, I had a good night's sleep in my own bed and ready to report. Tippy the dog was delivered safely back to my father In-law in Port Huron. Maddy and I camped two night in their back yard. Big area wide garage sales, swimming in the lake and visiting with the In-laws, who never met Maddy before. Dad is finally warming up to the idea of being a great grandpa ... soon to be a great - great grandpa. (Maddy's cousin is pregnant) Then two night in Detroit. BUT, Wednesday with Tippy, we tried to visit the P-5 at Technosports in Livonia MI. I got a card and signed the guest book, but didn't get pass the lobby. The very beautiful receptionist with nice nails meekly but sternly bold face lied (most likely) and said it wasn't there to see. But, she did confirm that they will be building lots of them there in the future. The business was impressive. Two buildings, maybe more were very secure and located in a nice area. Looking in the windows (I was walking the little dog), it was mostly offices in the front and large work area / garages in the back of both buildings behind fences and gates. Maddy was afraid we were going to get arrested so we didn't stay long.

A weekend? Yeah, I've heard of that before.

I'm, sure the people at EM and PE himself are very aware that we are all hanging on a thread wanting information on the state of Elio.
And with the new marketing people they have they know that whatever is released has got to be spot on with actual real information that can be backed up with facts.
Which new marketing people? Berline?

The automotive press drive me nuts. This article is riddled with errors from start to finish. the prototype designations are wrong. The engine does not have "new technology from the ground up." And even the picture is a fake: Paul is standing there and DOES NOT HAVE A COFFEE CUP IN HIS HAND. ;)
Now living in Seattle, a latte is "espresso", not coffee-- and they let me know it!!
They also can stand and wait for the pedestrian crossing lights to "allow" you to cross- born in NYC standing, waiting for a light is an invitation for a pick-pocket!!, and don't forget, never look up and say "those are really tall buildings", that's the mugging invitation

Yes, and always to remember to cross ONLY in the crosswalks; pedestrians do have the right of way if they are using the crosswalk (remember that when you drive). Public transit is everywhere and it's pretty good. I understand they finally have the trains in and running also, along with the trolley system on the north end of downtown by the Lake Union. You can make eye contact with people and say hi, and they will say it back (maybe); at least they used to. I'm so spoiled living out in the woods, it's been at least 10 years since I was last in Seattle.

I've been to Seattle numerous times -- love the place. Take the ferry to Bainbridge, and have supper at the Yacht Club (on your left after you get off the ferry). Nice food, good ambience. If you time this for a full moon, you'll have the most amazing view of the city on your way back across the bay.
But you've probably figured all that out by now.

still feeling my way around (walking)
some observations about driving-
just step off the curb, and the cars freeze, natives (and their survivors) just ASSUME cars will stop.
there is no such thing as right lane turn only
there are dedicated bus and bicycle lanes.
as in Pittsburgh, traffic lights are to be ignored when yellow.
soooo polite, nobody honks
SUV's are only for tourists natives love their leafs, teslas and hybrids along with old Volvos and Saabs
parking on side streets either side w/ cars facing either way.
plan ahead on one lane side streets to see where you can pull over to allow the car coming towards you to get thru.

some other observations- you're the devil if you don't bring your own bags shopping.
Never mention plastic bags
Always make eye contact, it seems rude not to
don't stare at girls with green hair, with tattoos on their face, with lettering on the back of each finger and pierced lips oops forgot to included guys
never say Indian- say "first people"
don't mention the superbowl
never order just a beer....... it's gotta be brewed within a 50 mile radius, organic, self-sustaining, powered by ,the wind
and this is just my first week- well getting ready to feed my cats, gotta keep a low profile here too pets are people and have rights PETA is watching.
-just for giggles, I happen to be 72, tattooed (no knuckles-too painful), and vegan- instant acceptance!!!

Well the ink and vegan help, the 72 is a drawback; "old people" are mostly ignored until you become a regular; and if your first name is a little strange pick up an acceptable nickname (The RU would put a target on the back of your head; Crazy is socially unacceptable. Crazy is "Mentally Challenged" must be PC).
I don't know if you've been here in the winter but daylight hours a very short; In December it gets light at 8:30 and by 3:20 or 4:00 it's dark. That's where the joke comes from for your car; "How can you tell if it's winter in Seattle? When you start your car the headlights and wipers come on".
Since you got here in early August you're getting the spoiler daylight; middle of June it's light at 4:30am and gets dark at 9:45pm.

Yes beer is microbrews or IPA's or IPH's, if you want to get toasted find a bar that has Black Bastard Ale it's like 11% alcohol (22 proof)

Yeup! that's the place. Walking around downtown south of the space needle at night isn't such a good idea anymore. Unless you got smokes,or tatoos on your neck, then they figure you for being on the more 'savy' crew. lol
Actually haven't done that for 15plus years, so I don't know for sure anymore.
