WELCOME TO ELECTRA MECCANICA

Fifteen years in the making, our management team is nearing the introduction of the exciting new 2016 EMV Solo. Our website (www.smallev.com) has images that are very close to the production car, and we can now accept your refundable deposits of $250.00 for the first year’s expected production of 120 cars.

The 2016 Solo price is projected to cost $19,888.00 Canadian dollars, subject to final specifications and options. This price allows most people to consider Solo as their ideal second car and an inexpensive answer to their daily commute. Government electric vehicle rebates in your area may apply to make Solo an even better deal!

I see over 80% of people commuting by themselves in large, fossil fuel cars. And it drives me nuts. Everyone complains about traffic congestion and global warming, yet they continue to do the same thing and expect the situation to change by itself. Crazy!

This is the essence of why I started Electra Meccanica, and why we’ve been able to attract some of the most talented, hardest working and self-motivated team members I’ve ever met. It’s also why I believe that all those one person commuters will switch to the small footprint and zero emissions of the EMV Solo. We all have so much to gain by doing so, and its really a fantastic car when you get behind the wheel. With the current public demand for electric cars, and smaller cars that can easily navigate our crowded urban streets, the EMV Solo is probably one of the most anticipated new cars today.

Over the coming months I will be sharing lots of details and updates on the final specifications of our initial 2016 Solo model year. My dilemma is wording like "images are close so we can now start taking reservations for the first years EXPECTED............................120 CARS." Again, no guarantees.

The initial announcement stated that a solo protoype would be ready in November. I like this concept and had some high expectations from a custom car builder.

That $19,888 CAN equates to about $15K US

I like the "look" and like the concept,but it still feels restrictive. Restricted to: 1) One occupant. 2) limited range. 3) Limited usefulness (closely linked to #2) 4) for $20K your limited to only 1 electro Meccanica.....or 2 Elios and money to spare!

ElectraMeccanica is a new startup within the past year or so. They bought out some Corbin Sparrows.

I've no idea where they come up with 15 years in the making unless they are counting Corbin Motors Sparrow development time, but Corbin still owns the rights and is manufacturing his own Sparrow 2+ in 2016. He claims his single seater enclosed three wheeler Bird will be the most aerodynamic EV on the road.

The Solo is anticipated $15K US Dollars not counting EV incentives.

outside of being a vehicle, Meccanica and Elio are an apples and oranges comparison .... I have no doubt that they will find a small market, hope they do well .... per their website, projected top speed and range are better than most but aren't up to that of an Elio .... doesn't appear to be a year round vehicle, no mention of heat, AC, or other options .... producing only 120 a year which equals 10 per month / 2.5 per week .... numbers like that indicate a one horse operation .... yep, other than being vehicles, they have little in common

All true, if however, they produce and sell 10 units, that's ten more than EM

OOPS! I got my US and Canadian mixed up. Interesting tho, how EM has continued to hold to their "goal" price of $6800...so far. As for the options...what I buy would be the same either way...base model 5-speed & no options. It is also possible that to get the EM with A/C or heat would be extra, driving their "out the door" cost would be even higher. So, 1 EM or 2 Elios with a "tiny bit" to spare.
