They mentioned previously that even the base stereo will have USB, AUX, and bluetooth connectivity.

WIth USB you can plug in a phone, iPod, or just a small USB stick. I love using the small "nano" sized USB sticks. I have no idea if the CD player in my Miata or my wife's Venza even work, we have never used them. The last time I used an audio CD was to rip the last of my old CDs to computer about 6 years ago?

I would not be shocked if the Elio does not play CDs.
If you really want to play a CD, they do have external units that you can plug into the AUX or a USB and play for as low as $15.00

Elgin Cluster, It'll take a little getting use to I think, but the idea of something new is really kind of cool, so looking forward to the chance to drive with IT.
Me too. It is a 7K Autocycle. I do not really see the need for a 70K sports car fancy dash. It could be fun having a KM Odometer too. 100,000km = 62,137mi

Pfeh. Get yourself one of those Skyz systems and you can program it to provide that info on the fly.

I don't think you'd need a panel to make the DIN size hole. The hole in the dash IS DIN. The pill shape is really small compared to a single DIN opening.
Oh, ok. I had only eyeballed it, working from the MyElio images, and just assumed it was basically the same DIN rectangle dimensions, albeit with a generous fillet on each end.
So, am I understanding you correctly, if I take it to mean the read panel in the picture below would be closer to single-DIN dimensions?

If the surrounding red panel in the picture is single-DIN dimension, with an otherwise undersized stock unit in the center of it sitting in its own dock within the single-DIN space or something, that's fine, too. It just means my blind assumptions about size in the configurator image were way off- perfectly possible, even likely.

Or did you mean something else? Sorry if I didn't get it.
At most, you'll want a kit to kind of surround the hole but maybe not much.
Ultimately, the fit is a trivial matter. I tend towards assuming the most complex or worst, so I can decide if something is going to be worth any trouble it might present, and then I'm ready for a pleasant surprise if it turns out simpler or easier. Even if it were as odd as it initially looked to me, it's not a big deal- that's all my earlier post was trying to convey. As I think you've described it, so much the better!

Really, as long as it at least has 3.5mm line-in- and it does- I probably wouldn't see fit to replace it, anyway. I just have an annoyingly fixating sort of curiosity in me- pay no mind to it! :D

You read me correctly. The Red panel is right at 7 3/32" by 2", I believe. We need a member to put an actual tape measure there... Or better yet, I'll just ask Elio.
