We're minutes away from the racing Solo R demoing under the guiding hand of professional driver Marco Kacic.
We haven't had word from EMV as yet about any live streaming from the track. Hopefully we'll be able to see video by tonight.

Quick question. Have they passed the requirements so they can be imported and driven in US streets/freeways? What happens when the US customer's order are up and ready to ship but they are not in full compliance yet? I guess they can still deliver it but can't be registered to DMV. I have no idea that's why I'm asking before fully committing. What are the US requirements. I know 3 wheels does not require airbags for one. Help!:(

EMV sent a Solo for USA Motorcycle Compliance testing 2-3 months ago. Jerry stated compliance testing is going well with an official announcement soon.

Keep in mind the original Corbin Sparrow was officially USA Compliance Certified and the Solo is built on a much improved Sparrow platform.
Note the Center Hood Headlight that was added to the Solo shipped for compliance testing. EMV engineers know exactly what the certification requirements are and sent a Solo that meets them. Also, an interesting note is that Canadian compliance standards requires crash testing..........more stringent than USA Motorcycle Compliance standards.

When using your Elio reservation receipt to make your Solo reservation, you have no additional out of pocket cost, so nothing to lose when locking in a Solo reservation number. If my Solo test drive experience doesn't meet or exceed my expectation I will simply cancel my reservation #166.

To the best of my knowledge, they don't plan on delivering any Solos to either Canada or the US until the vehicles are compliance certified.
On a side note, to answer a question that's been asked in the past, I think EMV will do the importing and it will not be the buyer's responsibility.
The US certification process has been underway for several months, but the Solo has not been certified in either country as of yet.
EMV's estimate is that US certification will come by June by the latest.

As per your question of what's required, here are the US requirements for all highway vehicles...

But then again, neither has the Elio. ;)
