Probably not much. I think they've said that you cant' stand behind the Elio and be hidden from the mirrors. Some people are reliant on that rear view mirror to back up. They'll have some adjusting to do. Now, my question is if I have the mirrors set to see right behind me contrary to the way they should be set up (according to Car and Driver where you shouldn't be able to see your own vehicle in the outside mirrors but rather the next lane), will I be able to see someone in my blind spots? IF there is a blind spot.
Mine on my car are set up to look just barley down the side of the car on both sides. Up in the corner is a small blind spot mirror I use for a wider angle. Small learning curve, really not a problem.

I do the same thing. Well, my truck has two mirrors our each side (one housing). I can adjust them independantly. The panoramic one sees the other lane like yours does and the big one... it's set up like yours. In a single mirror case (I'd just get some little stick on convex mirrors), they say you should have to tilt your head to the side to see your own car in the mirror. (Car and Driver)

That's all I will do if the Elio comes with out one in the mirror.

For those who have been fortunate enough to actually sit in the Elio, will it be easy to adjust mirrors manually. I currently have power controlled side view mirrors and admit to being spoiled by them. However, I assume sitting in the middle of the Elio means you can probably reach the mirrors comfortably to adjust them. Am I right? :-) Z

One bad thing, at night, the lights from the car directly behind will shine directly into the mirrors and into your eyes. When this happens with my car I use the power mirror and adjust them out of my eyes. You can do this with manual, but if it's pissing down rain, that would not be fun.

I have done exactly that and you are right. In rain that would not be fun.

Those of us that have been driving for YEARS were required to learn how to parallel park using only our mirrors. How many people have rented a U-Haul truck. It only has side mirrors so it is not an impossible task. Perhaps people need to re-learn how to drive. Having sat in the Elio I do not see any problem in adjusting your mirrors to eliminate any dead space - the same space you could not see in a center mounted rearview mirror

It still would beat adjusting rear view mirrors on a rainy drive on any other motorcycle on the market. LOL

I only had to ever adjust the cabin rear view mirror to eliminate annoying bright lights from behind.......can't say I was ever compelled to adjust side mirrors.
