Sondors Electric Car

Experience tells me to wait and order my FRONT OR AWD SONDORs until after a test drive. :)
Agreed. Like many faithful Elio reservationists, I am admittedly salty and bitter with how everything has panned out up to this point. I haven't completely lost faith and am anxiously waiting until April timeframe to read the next annual SEC filing and observe how the March court date affects fundraising efforts. But I am markedly more weary and hesitant to throw money towards any additional projects.

Given the refundable nature of the Sondors reservation program, my takeaway is that none of that money can be spent on the business of designing and building the Sondors prototype, but rather is a simple method of gauging public interest in and commitment to the project, which could then be leveraged in fundraising efforts.

One of my hangups with the Sondors is its rear-wheel drive setup incorporating a wheel hub motor. In the same fashion that Tesla has proven AWD drivetrain systems paired with all-electric powertrain systems can be powerful, safe and efficient, I patiently wait for the Sondors team to develop an iteration of their first prototype that provides torque-vectoring to all three wheels. In my view, that would be a winner.

Yes, if Sondors actually builds it at a reasonable base $ with reasonable options $ MSRP, they will come. I can no longer get excited about a concept vehicle until I see it screaming around the test track along with scheduled reservationist and media test drive events. Until that time the current SONDORs is a show car used as a marketing tool. Admittedly a fine looking, detailed fit and finished show car. I look forward to watching the 2nd R&D prototype build to be used for road and track testing. Also, the mention of front wheel drive is interesting, but the cost of 2 additional in-hub motors will increase the MSRP dramatically.

Only the $100 "reservation" is refundable.....the $330 processing fee is NOT :mad:

I would like to add. I hope that everyone gets the Autocycle of there choice! I expect to loose $1100 to Paul and Co.. I am not upset, I made two reservations, knowing full well that I might not see an Elio in my garage, but I will see an Autocycle. I hope that it is an Elio,but if not then maybe an SRK, Sondors, or an amphere, which I don’t know that much about. Gives me something to look forward too. Have a great weekend!

Me too! Even though I have my final choice narrowed down to a fun utility vehicle. It's nice to have options and/or the opportunity to start a collection of three wheelers.

You must be psychic Doug! :D All this waiting is not fun but there's no stopping these new 3wheelers from being a reality so you're right about seeing an Autocycle in everybody's garage in the near future! The FUV & SOLO are competing for my business and it could be delivered as late as 4th Q of this year or 1st Q of next year and that's my realistic expectation. Can't get too excited with these new start-ups because of their low initial productions. And yes, no matter how the ELIO is lagging behind in building the rest of the test prototypes, I just can't count them out because if they can still deliver for 7K after all these years, then more power to them.

Storm told me that he was going to work on front wheel drive for those in colder climates. That was on Dec. 2
