I posted this on another thread, but it certainly represents my thoughts regarding Paul and the Elio. A new Elio would have been great in 2018 - but it will still be great in 2019/2020/2021! The challenge of getting something like this off the ground has to be unbelievably difficult, if it was easy everyone would design and produce their own take on the perfect vehicle. I’d encourage any naysayers to do exactly that. For me, the deposit has been an inexpensive cost of admission to a fascinating journey. I’m proud to be a part of something I still believe will see the light of day. Keep the faith, the journey continues!

I don't follow it much anymore. I don't mention it to people I know anymore. I have not given up my last glimmer of hope yet though. I put up my 1k what seems like an eternity ago. If I'm sitting there one day and I get this weird email saying I'm next up to order my new Elio vehicle I'll rub my eyes and Google it to make sure it's not a phishing scam then assuming it's on the up and up I'll happily order my Elio :D

I wonder if Elio could make a deal with whoever will supply the engine to sell their gas milage credits? Like Tesla is selling theirs to Fiat for hundreds of millions of dollars. Might get something started.

I thought we've been all through that over the years and the conclusion was that Elio will not be eligible for CAFE credits because, federally speaking, it's a motorcycle. Besides if there's no cars, and therefore noengines, produced why would there be credits for sale even if the Elio was eligible for the credits?

If they were eligible, then a forward thinking company might invest in future credits. Also, who knows if in the future autocycles may be eligible for the credits? The autocycle bill in Congress may be stalled, but is not dead yet.

Selling future credits. I could see a manufacturer putting up a loan in exchange for CAFE credits. I think the biggest stumbling block is that it isn't a sure thing Elio would be eligible... even with an Autocycle designation which separates it from the motorcycle designation.
