largest chunk of people (who are interested), happy to pay $12k USD?, a small percent willing to go $16k USD,

Just my gut-driven guestimate.

There was a study done about 10 years ago in the USA that determined that for most non-essential vehicles, motorbikes, sports cars, boats, aircraft kits, etc, people would indeed go up to $15K and after that the numbers would drop off severely.

Wow, I didn't realise they were that much, just wow.

The base price is $17,900. I wanted to max out all of the available options.... just to see how much one "could" spend. Premium seats, premium frame paint... 2-color high gloss body paint... doors at a $2,500 option... iPhone holder at $50.... etc.

I think only a municipality (spending tax dollars) would max out one of those things. The base unit is plenty nice enough for the average Joe to scoot around in.

It's a neat vehicle to fit some peoples' needs. Just seems to be a bit pricey, even at the base cost. But heck.... practically every vehicle out there is overpriced.

$50 for an iPhone holder? That's ridiculous and is indicative of the industry today.

Sell your Mongrel at a true fair price and you won't be able to build them fast enough.

Just a thought now, mind you, but with the swing arm now being below the pivot, the wheel will have an increased rearward component (an eccentric?) to its arc in reaction to pothole impact compared to the original pivot location, which is a good thing; but, if the swing arm were placed above the pivot, that would lower the CG (ala Hudson), and increase the swing arm angle allowing the greater rearward component in the wheel arc. The pivot brackets would now be in compression and may require greater thickness. Just a thought.

The rear wheel was always going to be set to initially move rearwards, eg; pivot above axle line, for comfort and compliance. It also helps to keep the rear down under braking.

Currently the pivot location is just a guess'timate until I have set the final ride height, that's why there's a bit of length in all the pivot brackets, so I can adjust their shapes later to suit if required.
