Uh oh....I can see this thread getting deleted....

Moderator Comment: I do not yet see a reason to delete anything as while politics have been mentioned it was within the context of stereotypes. This is riding the line but as long as this does not devolve into an actual discussion of political positions it is ok. ;):D:p

If I was concerned about whatever people thought of me because of the car I drove, I'd drive a Benz and not a GEO. When it comes to other's opinions, my reaction is always, "believe what you want, you will anyway."

And this is the car that they should have produced! I still have not heard any reasonable argument for changing from the car pictured (next to the Cadillac) to the current manifestation.

Aerodynamics! Plain and simple. Tucking in the headlamps. Flattening the front end. Covering the wheels. All for aero. Not saying we LIKE it, but if they intend to meet their MPG goal, they gotta do what they gotta do. They have no intended goal of producing a car that everyone loves to look at.

The primary demographic of purchasers so far is upper-middle-income, late-middle-age white males, meaning probably mostly conservative-leaning. The largest demographic of the Pious owners was suburban, female, middle-aged, middle-income, and coastal, meaning mostly dedicated Liberals (in political name but not historic meaning). Based on who the early owners will be, I don't think the Elio will get the same perception as the Pious.

I'm sure we'll get stereotyped, but it won't be as bleeding-heart Liberals.
I, for one, won't be putting a "Coexist" stick on my Elio. ;)
