I don't think everybody is seeing the whole picture. These delays have nothing to do with the design, the engine or the testing anymore....they just didn't have enough funding to go full speed ahead! That 11,700+ reservation money is not even close enough to get everything in place. Everything cost money from setting up the assembly line with robots, to paying the suppliers to buying and setting up the dealership and don't forget the workers that need to be paid!!! Think about it people, the company that builds the IAV engine are not new to the scene, they have it already but waiting if they will be paid to mass produce it! I asked one of the guy in charge of the showing at the Phoenix, AZ and confirmed to me that the P4 is "it". Now I'm finding out that P5 and maybe P6 might still come up. If nobody says anything and just try to "chill out and enjoy the ride", we will all be taken for a ride to the edge of a cliff!
Again, I'm in the same boat with you all having reserved 1K and 2,491 on the waiting list. If there is any truth that their IAV testing came really close at 81 mpg...that is acceptable to most people including me but give us the numbers, what speed it was achieved, was there a passenger or not, etc. Wake up people, we should all be concerned right now about the funding than thinking about options, driving from the factory, etc. I woke up and I don't like what I see! Before anybody get's mad at me for being too negative...I still believe that EM has the right product, at the right time and it's good for America but if they don't come up with the investor/s to provide them with the amount to fund this project....it will stay as a "unrealized concept"!

I agree! Funding is the real issue. If they don't have funding, we don't get cars! Money makes the wheels go around. Our job as Elio pre-owners should be to spread the word and get more noise going about Elio. More noise, more press, more press, more interest, more interest, more likely investors will be willing to put hard cash in to the company!

From all I see now I would not ask people to go all in.. I would feel bad if they lost their money based on my recommendation! If Elio wants people to invest he should state this.. Not sure what to think anymore here.. :(

I can understand where you would be concerned about whether or not they have enough money to bring this car to production as I too see that as the biggest reason this could still fail.

Where I disagree with you is that I have not yet seen any real evidence that they are floundering because of money. They have been publicly stating for months now, prior to building the P4, that it would be June before they expected to have the new IAV engines delivered to them so they can install them in new prototypes. I expect the P5 to come in June with the new engine and near final transmission as well as the aerodynamic enhancements they have been talking about. If the middle of the year comes and goes and I am still hearing excuses then I will start to wonder about the financial viability of the project.

Thanks for the +1. Better be careful, one of the other post I was on, I got yelled at for that. They said I was running up my post score.
