Paul Elio seemed flustered in the NBC 6 News interview. The interviewer is the same person that did the walk thru in Shreveport, LA facility tour. He seemed to keep Paul on track. I'm sure it is hard for him. I hope this will not hurt the PR too bad. I do feel it will cutoff the sales a little.

Like I was saying before, it's all about time. He didn't like saying it, that is for sure. I find it a good thing that they had changed their self-funding method 3 months ago. The Gov Loan was always a second track to this. The Equipment added with private funding was the other.

The only thing I'm wondering is why they need the full 240mil upfront to get going. I hope they report from time-to-time the progress, how much is left.

Last summer they were saying they needed 185 million to start production. Now it's 240. Is the 240 what's still left to raise, or the original amount, whittled down to 185?

Paul will hand out golden parachutes to his faithful few and tell the rest of us to go to hell..
Lordy, you're just plain weird. A delay was always possible and doesn't justify any of this witch hunt stuff.

The funding was THE issue in the past, always has been the issue and will continue to be the issue even after Elios start production.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this Paul Elio quote:

"The other thing that has happened for us is that we've bought all of the assets out of the GM bankruptcy, the day we bought it, quite honestly, I overpaid a little."

Though Elio explained, after prices naturally appreciated, the equipment is now worth a lot more than they paid. After partnering with Comau, who participates in the manufacturing of 1 out of 3 vehicles in the world, the company now has $17 million worth of equipment for sale at their Ebay store, Elio said. What is currently listed represents less than 15% of the surplus assets that the company intends to sell.

Based on my understanding, Elio got one heck of a deal on the equipment. So I don't get his "overpaid a little" comment. And "prices naturally appreciated"? Really? In 18 months?

And I am a bit surprised that eBay is the vehicle of choice for selling the surplus equipment. I am unable to find the Elio Motors eBay store. I assume some other entity is the eBay seller. I'd like to see those listings.

So either someone wasn't giving them the correct information or they were flat out lying to us. That's what makes this so difficult for me.
Don't ever think I hold you in any contempt, you are skeptical, emotional and earnest, I like all that. But I do like to dance on the issues you bring up. Don't want to ever see you stop that either.

'SO' :-) , by definition, PR is the art of lying but making it OK.
Jerome has to, and must, tote the official line until that line is officially re-set.
On Saturday, he did say to me, the Gov funding thing could affect the schedule. So did he lie to me, when 'could' should have been 'did'? From a PR standpoint it was actually a big admission. And 'did' is only true when it becomes official, and official is only as of the moment Paul let it lose.

Everyone is very upset with this delay. Even me. It doesn't justify the explosive accusations we seen. It also doesn't say we should be polly-anna about it either.

I still want my Elios. Desperately, I could use them right this moment. I'm thinking strongly about taking another to fill out the inventory for all the 'butts' I need to put in them. With the delay, there is the chance this new reservation would avoid an even longer wait.

You can link into them from the blog area on the main website.
What Paul said indicates to me that he regrets not getting an even better deal. They could have dickered a bit more for what they got, given the economy at the time. Auto Sales were 'tanked'.
Now auto sales are up, it may be good to now have a supply of equipment that industry uses.
