Everything these days have cruise control and Elio needs to be one of them. Nav, sun roof, leather, stereo upgrade and blue tooth should be an option to keep a low base model price.
Remote start, not even an option.
Not that I need or want it, but remote start is easier than adding cruise control on modern vehicles. I want cruise control more, but it would be nice coming out to a 80 degree vehicle on a 100 degree day or a 70 degree vehicle on a 30 degree morning. I think I just talked myself into adding a remote start. Damn it! It's all you fault Fred! Haha.

Curious, as to why remote start can’t be an option. If you have it put on after market and it fries your electrical system, the warranty will not cover it.

I don't want a remote start, this winter vehicles with remote start have been stolen at a higher rate than other vehicles. The reason? Thieves are taking cars sitting on driveways that have already been started and are unattended while heating up.

Interesting, on our new car, we have to hit the lock button twice before the car will remote start. Are they breaking out the windows? After that how does the wheel turn without a key in it?

You must be misinformed. You can not drive a car that has been remote started. Most have fail safes like steering wheel lock, rpm limit, door opening engine kill. There may be a way around it that I'm un aware of, but every car I have had with remote start was not drivable until the key was in the ignition.

My truck has it as an aftermarket add on and the engine shuts off if you press the brake pedal before turning the key on..

As others have stated, this is bunk. The cars you reference certainly don't have a remote start system installed.
