I did look at the time on your post. Just didn't think it would have gone up 20 degrees in that time. I can only go by my weather app from here. Thankfully, I'm not up at our house in York right now.
You must be talking wind chill. We've got a house in York, and it is about +12 degrees right now. About the same down here near Annapolis. Well, more like 15 right now.
My Fiat has a 12v pump with slime under the driver's seat. There is room for a spare under the rear of the car (like on many trucks). I was imagining a round, weatherproof suitcase that I could load up underneath for when I need more storage in the Fiat. The trunk may be larger than the Elio...
$399 is a lot for chains, but not bad compared to snow tires. However, the benefit to snow tires is that you aren't putting miles on your regular tires. With my Outback, it saves me a very slight amount of money to use snow tires. Basically, the cost per mile is slightly lower than the cost...
Being without water is the worst! Where I grew up, we lost power quite often and we were on a well. Preparing for a storm involved filling lots of containers with water. Later on, we got a generator capable of running the well pump.
Where we now live, we have municipal water and gas. The...
We had an 8N growing up... plowed a lot of snow with that thing! My dad finally replaced it with a Ford diesel a few years ago. It's about a 1983 or so... and has a Perkins diesel. Nice tractor.
I downsized to 16" for a better patch in the snow. The tires are Pirelli Winter Snowcontrol Serie 3. I wish I could have gotten some General Altimax Arctics... I have them on the Outback, and they kick butt!
Thankfully, we haven't had the power go out. Having two generators on hand probably has something to do with it.
Now, if only the county would plow my road...
Understood. I test drove both... And they were taking $5,500 off the 2015s on the lot. So..... I went Abarth.
Having said that, I don't think the difference was $10k. I mean, you CAN spent 10k more, but for a similarly equipped Abarth, it's more like $4-5k more
I knew I was going to get...
My Benz is getting a little long in the tooth, so I put it up for sale and bought myself a newer and more fun ride.
It's a new 2015 Fiat 500 Abarth cabriolet. It might weigh a little more than the Elio, but it does have 160 horsepower and 180 pounds of torque. It is a -blast- to drive...
You are making a lot of worst case scenario assumptions. You assume that since the warranty is 100,000 miles that the battery will fail at that mileage. That's like assuming you'll have to replace your Elio at 36,001 miles.
As for the cost, something like that is not unique to electric cars...
