    Elio Turbo

Turbo power to increase low rpm torque and hp? It could increase the mpg of Elio to 120 mpg. Use turbocharging like on a diesel engine to increase power and gain the ability to lower gearing to around 30 mph per 1000 rpm. I already wrote that there are probably kids in their garages, buying...

120 Mpg Elio? Parts Availabe Online...

This car will do VERY well for obvious reasons. It's safe (so we are told) and gas prices are high. I will guess that gas prices will remain where they are or get higher over the next few years. At around 90 mpg, the Elio will find an instant market. If Elio Motors decides to spend a few million...

    Bike Rack

More and more, I'm thinking about just finding a bike that's either a fold up that fits in the trunk or a bike with smaller wheels that has quick release on both front and rear wheels. I would hate to get -15mpg simply because the bike was dragging me down...

    Ditch The 3 Cylinder?

Like I have posted before, go to EBay and look up either Suzuki Swift or Geo Metro (both came with models of this 1 liter, 3 cylinder engine) Look at the total miles those cars have been driven! I have seen one on EBAY with over 375,000 miles ! Not bad for an engine that probable only weighs 150...

    Gas In A Diesel

I'd think that if you ran the gasoline in the diesel, it would do some damage, but only minimally. Diesel engines are far more durable than gas engines. Having said that, If I'd have to choose between diesel into a gas engine or gas into a diesel engine? I'd assume there would be far fewer, long...

    Ditch The 3 Cylinder?

3 cylinder motor? My friends 1986 Suzuki Swift is a 1 liter, 3 cylinder with 5 speed manual. 30 years old with 259,000 miles and it still gets 54 mpg at a steady 55 mph.

    Bike Rack

I need to take my bike with me. Do you think the bike will fit inside? or is there a simple, small, lightweight strap-type bike carrier that will fit on the rear end? Moderator Comment: Merged question into existing back rack thread

Anyone Else Think It Wont Happen?

The biggest threat to Elio is that it's priced like a 350 cc motorcycle. With a/c, anti-lock and auto components, this "fun" concept should cost at least $9500. Elio probably can't survive @ $6800. Am buying one anyway...
