That's funny. I quit reading Tom's article by the end of the first paragraph.

"Though a jet has never had to land in the ocean, anxious fliers still obsess about that possibility."

No offense Tom, but I don't think landing is what anxious fliers are worried about.

I had a subscription to Psycho Today for a few years in my late teens / early twenties. Interesting reading for a while.
I gave it up because I finally realized that most of the contributors had created the artificial worlds that they lived in. ;)

Kuda, I get what you're saying.
But I think it's more a case that habits are hard to break.
Look at PE's track record in previous businesses.
There may have been experts on the board...

But his has been the hand on the wheel.

The bottom line point for me is The
Elio has from the getgo been a risk
& what's our risk tolerance. Each
of us has to look in the mirror & say
I did this with an open mind knowing
that it could quite probably fail but
just maybe a good idea will prevail....

Yep. Like I inferred... I got that a long time ago.
And what I see in your and FC's posts is very familiar...
An attempt to shift blame. Remember, I said, "Watch and see".

What do noted psychologists say about that mass phenomena?

Psychobabble and diversion will only take us so far in drawing attention away from Paul's shortcomings.

I choose to live in the real world and place blame where it belongs.
To each his own. I'll leave it to others to project that blame inward.

There is already a sufficient # who seem happy to only touch selected parts of the elephant and take it's burden of guilt upon themselves.

I do not like people twisting my words. Success or failure is on Paul Elio and his company.
They are human beings which make mistakes. They are also the only ones who actually know
what is going on. All we are doing is making guesses on partial information.
I choose not to be all doom and gloom, it either happens or it doesn't.

Reality? If you are trying to accomplish something really hard you do not give up.
No matter what setbacks, mistakes and misfortunes happen.
You may fail anyways, but you will certainly fail if you give up right before things start going your way.

If you don't like people twisting your words back around on you...

Don't give them such a open opportunity to do so.
Don't attempt to use an irrelevant psycho-voodoo analogy on them.
Especially one that explains your own perspective so well.

I'm looking at the whole elephant. What are you looking at?
As you sew, so shall you reap. Another famous saying.
And... I certainly respect your personal choice.
As I plainly said before, to each his own.

Absolutely. I totally agree. This is not about giving up.
However, it's a whole lot easier to overcome setbacks, mistakes and misfortunes...
If you don't insist on creating them for yourself in the first place.
That's especially relevant when you take on the added responsibility of carrying the hopes and dreams of others along with you.

And BTW, you're still trying to make excuses and shift attention and blame. Again, to each his own.
I can see where brand loyalty is taking this conversation and I'm seceding before hostilities break out...
And our mods have to come and spank us. :D I'm even going to give you the last word. Enjoy.

As I understand, the DOE is notoriously slow about making ATVM loan decisions. I wonder if EM has offers open to them they do not really like but are holding off on accepting these offers in order to give the ATVM process more time.

I hope Stu has unofficially said "If all financial avenues are exhausted and there is absolutely no money found, I will completely fund the Elio project. I am older now and want to spend my money before I die."

Go Stelio.

To be honest. I understand the question. Where did the money go ?
I have not formed a firm opinion on this. I do not know.
Were millions spent unwisely ?
Was time wasted ?
I would have to see proof of this past, and talk in depth honestly with someone who lived it, to have an inkling of what has really transpired.
