It appears that everything will come to a halt at month six because, at month six the $240M is suppose to take over and finance the activities.

They may have obtained some money from equipment sales and more investors, but since nothing like this has been announced, I have to assume there is no such money and all activity will come to an end at month six.

Don't get your knickers in a twist. It is entirely likely that as soon as one of these E cars demonstrates 75 miles per gallon minimum requirement, the the DOE may come across with the ATVM Loan guarantee.

If that doesn't happen, Paul may actually have to rely on his mysterious quote other sources unquote for additional funding. But that sure would be the hard way!

Am I missing something? Doesn't the DOE loan only require a computer simulation and the software used for mpg verification?
Or is the requirement for an actual road test?

The best part of this news is that an entirely new team will be building the E-series. That is a test of the documentation as much as anything else. Sure, there will be people on-hand to answer questions, but the fact that a question gets asked is indicative of a glitch that will need to be ironed out.
Isn't Livonia where they built the Prototypes? What was the name of the company, Northsports or some such? Might be the same people this time, just a dedicated team of 8. I sure hope they have cleaner garages if that's the case.

Paul has said repeatedly that demonstrating that the technology actually works will be a very positive step in getting the atvm loan guarantee.

It may not be a formal requirement, but it seems de facto to be key.

Or indicative that the documentation is incorrect.

It's worth adding for those who are new here that DOE backed several very bad and very public horses. They are gun shy about doing that again. On the other hand, they don't want to shoot down something that rightly supports their mission. Hence the caution and the value of actual Hardware running on an actual track somewhere.
