A more down to earth speculation, it doesn't really matter what happened in court. The courts are so slow and the appeal process so drawn out that Elio can get away with anything IF they actually are on plan to make the cars. Real proof, as in actually getting something done, will end all legal questions.

A Jefferson Parish Judge fined Elio Motors $38,250 for operating as a recreational products manufacturer in the state without being licensed by the Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission for more than 1,530 days.
"We strongly disagree with the decision and will appeal" said a company spokesperson.
