Rhino is a name of a company that makes these heavy duty aluminum side box that fit on motorcycles that lock on from the inside. As far as an alarm, that is very simple to attach when they are removed and reinstalled.

Yup, seen them; just about indestructible; large and roomy inside, but about as aerodynamic as a brick, and styling isn't a strong point :p
But for price, going with factory, mass quantity made bags is the way to do it; but if price is not that big of a factor, custom made aero bags custom made for the Elio would be the ticket for "stylin'"

Just Google "motorcycle side box" and you will find HUNDREDS OF IDEAS". I just grabbed these photos as examples only. And placing one on the rear as illistrated in the last photo is a working idea for a total of three boxes that can be removed. Depending on what you may use this vehicle for, the options with these boxes are limitless. images.jpg

Don't have to, I've been riding to long not to know that there are 100's of thousands of accessories for anything on wheels; and if you thought of it, odds are someone else has too; it's more of a matter of finding what suits you and fits your tastes and needed functions.

I never have seen anyone in these threads place these photos up on using these boxs, but I am sure they have thought about using them in some degree.

In these threads, I agree. But remember, Elio Owners is only 4,000 of the 63,000+ that have placed a deposit on an Elio; less than 10% of all those "members" that have an interest in the Elio.

You know, I don't think it would be too hard to make a replacement rear skirt, such that it bulges out a little bit, and also takes up any interior space available. Yes, it would not provide much space or weight capacity, but you don't want much weight added back there anyway.
