Sounds like a cool idea to me! As mentioned, motorcycle owners have been doing this almost as long as car clubs so there should be a lot of ideas and experience in organizing events when the mood strikes to actually put a "Get Together" (GT) in place. Rally up!

We have had discussions on here about Elio Rallies at the national, regional, and local level. With most of those being discussed within our various state and regional discussion areas.

My personal favorite idea for the first national rally is for this to happen in Shreveport on, or as close to as possible, the first anniversary of production. I don't think Elio Motors would have any issue with thousands of Elios coming home for a visit. Shreveport also has about a half dozen casino hotels with thousands of total rooms along with all the normal hotels and motels you would find in a mid sized city so it should have the capacity to support such an event.

Having recently been attending motorcycle rally's for the Honda Valkyrie I have found them to be informative (tech sessions), a great place to meet like minded people, to make new friends and of course drool over some awesome bikes.
I think the same thing could and would be a good thing for Elio owners as well. Regional yearly gatherings for a weekend or more would really be cool.
What say YOU?
What years your Valkyrie, I have a 1998. Black and beautiful

I wonder if it would be reasonable, since the Elio is enclosed, to attempt to set an annual National Date so regional and local groups could coordinate around that event without conflict?

Luckily I believe this will be fairly easy with the Elio as it will be hard for local group to set firm dates far in advance before people start getting their vehicles. As an example if we already know that the first national rally will happen in Shreveport on or near the first anniversary of production then this makes it easier for everyone else to leave these dates open. We should also know this date a few months in advance of production which helps get a jump on getting things planned.

Of course in the future if the groups decided to shift dates thats when things start getting a bit more hectic.

I may have to make room in my schedule to join you guys as I love Cedar Point! My last visit was just before labor day last year, 2013!

My father attended Ohio State for graduate school just before I was born, and I was conceived in Columbus , so my parents have a lot of good memories in Ohio. When I was growing up my family used to visit Ohio every other year or so including fun times at Cedar Point.(:

Jus' sayin'; planning is the key to success. If the Elio anniversary date hits during the first week of June, for example, the regional and state groups could observe that period as The National event period and plan accordingly. Of course, groups may want to hold an event during that same period because many would not want to make the trip to The National event, but that's their choice. Nailing it down to a set date/period makes it much easier for everyone to plan. If there could a thread or calendar for all events, drivers/owners could see how many events a single vehicle could make in a year.
