I had a motorcycle in my early twenties and went on many dates. In fact, I went on some dates specifically because of the motorcycle. I don't know if the Elio will exude ruthless bad boy vibes like a motorcycle does (probably not), but it is definitely feasible.I am concerned that it won't be practical to take passengers. Once in a blue moon is ok but you can't exactly pick up your date in it .
I think it would do just fine on a plowed road anything too deep it would probably be no worse than many front wheel drive cars already on the market. The front wheels will have less weight to drag through the snow.I am also concerned as to how it will handle snow. Although it has front wheel drive, I am concerned that it is too light to get any traction is bad weather.
The savings on fuel will pay for the Elio alone, so keep the truck for a back-up.My daily driver is a pickup truck now so I am used to having lots of room all the time but it is very costly to drive all the time.
It will be my daily driver/ commuter, but since I have a family we will keep our family car. I am also keeping my current commuter car (Mazda Miata) as a back-up vehicle. Are you are buying an Elio for your only car?
