Hesitations About Using The Elio As My Only Car???

I am concerned that it won't be practical to take passengers. Once in a blue moon is ok but you can't exactly pick up your date in it .
I had a motorcycle in my early twenties and went on many dates. In fact, I went on some dates specifically because of the motorcycle. I don't know if the Elio will exude ruthless bad boy vibes like a motorcycle does (probably not), but it is definitely feasible.

I am also concerned as to how it will handle snow. Although it has front wheel drive, I am concerned that it is too light to get any traction is bad weather.
I think it would do just fine on a plowed road anything too deep it would probably be no worse than many front wheel drive cars already on the market. The front wheels will have less weight to drag through the snow.

My daily driver is a pickup truck now so I am used to having lots of room all the time but it is very costly to drive all the time.
The savings on fuel will pay for the Elio alone, so keep the truck for a back-up.

Are you are buying an Elio for your only car?
It will be my daily driver/ commuter, but since I have a family we will keep our family car. I am also keeping my current commuter car (Mazda Miata) as a back-up vehicle.

Thanks for the great advice! If I take a girl on a date in the Elio and she comes back for a second date, she's a keeper. Maybe I'll put Harley side pipes on the Elio so I look bad to the bone.
In all seriousness, I think it is starting to make more sense for me to get an Elio, especially if I can afford to keep my truck around as backup. The gas savings will help pay for insurance on a second vehicle.

'Got 2 car garage so we'll be keeping one as backup and the Elio as everyday go around. Depending on how it performs, my wife may wants one for herself too so that's when we get rid of the "backup".

I hope to pull something like this with my Elio to meat up with son and grand-kids camping and fishing 100 miles one way. This is an Evo-pod, Mini-Micro Camper, for motorcycles.

I hope to build something like this for long trips and camping. Crude and simple but effective. Big enough to fit a tent and my trekking backpack in

No way I could make it work as my only vehicle but it will probably work for about 95% of my driving. Right now I have a Ford Escort. When commuting to work it is bigger then I need. At times it is too small and I have to borrow a vehicle from my parents. With the Elio I can also buy pickup or SUV and have the best of both worlds.

This tent trailer cost most likely more than the Elio?
