Only 84mpg???

VW will make 250 XL1 models in Europe only. 120k$+ its a cool car made with exotic and expensive materials. Elio is the polar opposite @6800$ made with steel frame and plastic composite body panels. You could buy 17 elio's vs 1 XL1. And don't forget no USA sales unless you are a big baller and move to Europe

The XL1 is a fine looking car. It is also unlikely that you will ever see either vehicle in their depicted models in the USA.

If they can attain 258mpg, why is there a problem netting 84?? I may have to jump ship .....

Attaining a figure and putting it in a vehicle you might want to use as a daily driver are two completely different things.

Single passenger, lower top speed, and nearly twenty times as expensive as an Elio. It looks like a little toy car and the Elio is unique. I'll take me Elio

Elio's goal was never MAX MPG. It was the most MPG possible while remaining affordable.

Just like the old saying that speed is just a question of money the same could be said for hyper MPG.
