11-14-14 .... we are spending November traveling in our camper and have been watching the winter weather associated with the "Polar Vortex" that is spreading across the country ..:(.. the leading edge of the "Polar Vortex" is apparently right down the road .... projections call for the temp to drop below freezing around 8PM tonight and stay there for 14 hours .... consequently, this afternoon we will have to begin taking some precautions .... first on tap will be to fill the water tank and have the filters and hoses ready to pack in the basement prior to settling in for the night .... our camper's furnace (which we had repaired last month while at Chesapeake) has been test fired and, thankfully, seems to work as it should .... second on tap, the truck's battery maintenance charger has been plugged in .... also and most importantly on tap, fixing a big pot of chili .... how is this major "weather event" affecting you and your area

Drained the water out of the old tractor and added antifreze mix. Ran the engine for about 10 minutes. Covered the outdoor faucets. Make sure the wood pile was covered , stacked , and ready for the woodstove. Did all this last Saturday and Sunday. Just normal winter stuff. Getting cold is a normal routine in Knoxville. Seldom stays cold for an extended period. The weather here is awlays changing. I have seen the high to be 18 degrees on Christmas and a week later be 71 on New Years day.

What is this vortex thing, had to add a vest to shorts and tee shirt when I walked the dog this morning. Should be warmer later. We are expecting (next Tues. & Weds.) to have highs only in the upper 60's. Still shoveling sunshine. You people up north know you are not legally bound to live in the crap, you could move..
