The 4qtr of this year will put a lot of fear to rest, or not.....
There's just way too much real estate between 'fear' and 'nervousness' to make the two interchangeable. A "proven ability to produce" and a "credit" for each unit produced are both reliant upon 'stockpiling' the requisite $200M (which has dropped from the initial $250M BTW), the original 'nervousness generators'. "Big money is positioned already"? Really? Don't want to sound bellicose or belligerent in any way but.....where's the money?

That's pretty much a waisted argument. When the engine is out, you'll have to be impatient for the next milestone. Frankly, I'm very confident for the next 60days or 90days, and ,I'm not going to bash about on the subject. At this point, events are more important than nervious chatter.
But in about that segment of time, I'll be key to see some progress as well.

If EM is able to make the CAFE credit idea happen it would be a game changer! This would actually encourage EM to sell these vehicles as inexpensively as possible to ensure they sell as many vehicles as they can to generate more credit sales. The profit per vehicle in CAFE credits is actually bigger than the profit built into each base model Elio sold. If EM can get the CAFE credit rules changed they will have no problems finding funding for production.
Again, What is the reasons it would or would not qualify for them?

At this time the Elio vehicle does not qualify as the CAFE rules currently follow NHTSA standards which consider this type of vehicle a motorcycle. What Elio Motors is trying to do is have the CAFE law or rules amended to classify autocycle type three wheeled vehicles as cars.

On the Facebook page where this was posted Joel Sheltrown, Elios VP of Government Affairs, clarified this statement by writing that this change in legal status would only apply to the CAFE standards and not to the vehicles NHTSA classification. It will still be a motorcycle to the NHTSA but will be a car for CAFE credits. He said that there is a precedence for this as congress changed the rules for the ATVM loan program to allow three wheeled vehicles even if they are not cars according to the NHTSA definition.

If you have a product that some feel can produce a profit 200 million is nothing pocket change in todays business world .
There are a lot of people that could fund that themselves out of petty cash.
Heck our CEO got and extra 40 million bonus last year just for showing up once in awhile. Sell it right 200 million is pocket change.
That should make you think about how important this Number of current reservations 30,268 is to raising Capital and getting credit.

Mr. Elio also stated that the Elio Motors project is more about creating American jobs and
reducing the trade deficit. He feels that this is what drives people to take the risk. Mr. Lichter stated that
the car is “cool”, but the price and the gas mileage is what “reinforces it”.
There was discussion about the financial side of the project. Mr. Elio stated that there are
currently nine non-diluted sources of capital for the company. He stated that they have been in
conversation with “the big guys” to sell the equipment that is not needed, which will net approximately $70
million. This will pay off the liens for the other half of the equipment, leaving Elio Motors with a fund
balance of $40 million to use toward the start of the hiring process for the site.

Mr. Elio talked about ATVM (Advanced Transportation Vehicle Manufacturing), which is a
DOE Program that was implemented by President Bush, continued by President Obama. This program
helps fund manufacturers that create fuel-efficient vehicles. Mr. Elio further explained that they have more
than $16 billion to loan out and they are currently actively seeking applicants. He also said that Elio
Motors has completed their ATVM application, but is having someone to review it before it is submitted.
He also requested letters of support from the group to present it with the application.
Answering a question from Mr. Thibodeaux, Mr. Elio stated that they are requesting $200
million from the ATVM Program.
Mr. Elio further talked about CAFÉ Credits and Greenhouse Gas Credits. He stated that
TESLA breaks even on their cars and makes a profit on these credits. Mr. Elio then decided to run a
simulation of how much revenue these credits would generate. Elio Motors would generate $600 million
annually in sellable credits. The only issue is that the Elio does not qualify because by definition, it is
considered a motorcycle and not a car. Mr. Elio stated that they are currently working on changing the law
to define the Elio as a car, not a motorcycle to qualify for these credits. They are anticipating to have this
completed by the end of this year. He also stated that companies out there that are willing to pre-buy Elio
Motors’ CAFE Credits if the law is changed.
