Honda is using Zeroshift on their MotoGP race bikes and have dominated that series the last 2 years.
It is a lighter, simpler version of the older DCT and actually more fuel efficient than any thing today.
Elio coming in w/old technology to hold the $6800 price point may be a mistake.

Zero has been around for at least 4 years now. There is a lot of money politics involved in getting anything new into production vehicles.
Doing the right thing is always trumped by the politics of money.

Yep an $9000 car that gets 88MPG would be way better than one <$7K that gets 84MPG

You'd be dealing w/hardware plus electronic hardware/software; something way above our pay grade.
Elio, I'm afraid, is stuck w/keeping it simple for now and upgrade down the road after a couple of production years have passed.
