What Will Be The Primary Use For Your Elio?

My primary use of an Elio remains to be seen at this point. I'll continue to commute by motorcycle, but I'll probably use it as an occasional commuter. It will most likely be used by my Wife for running errands and for her commutes to free her up from driving her Odyssey.

450 miles a week commuting is number 1, but a more important to me secondary use will be reviving the weekend road trip.

It will be my primary vehicle, dont tell my jeep, but it will become my 'other vehicle'. It will also become a great RV Toad when I retire in a few years as the low weight will be nice on a trailer, in place of the Spider we currently tow.

The Elio will replace my 1995 GEO Prizm as my commuter car. Trying to keep it going another year. Right now, I'm driving about 100 easy miles a week alone in the GEO, so with the Elio I will only be filling up once every month. We have a station wagon for the family trips and hauling stuff around. The GEO is starting to look a little ragged (185K miles on it and 12 years parked at the rail station), but its running pretty well (knock on wood). I keep repeating to myself "18 months more."

Hi mcg, I had a 1991 Toyota 2-wheel drive pickup! I believe the truck had 140,000 miles on it when I traded it in, back in 2002. I believe you could park it these days in the bed of a Tundra.

Is your truck still going strong? 4-wheel drive?

Bought it in 1999 from a student in Iowa City, IA; is a CA model. Still going strong, AC works like a charm, has 238K+ miles. It pulled a loaded trailer from IA when I moved to Georgia. Have used it to go to Miami and Orlando several times. I even used it to carry my Honda VTX twice! Have to place a piece of plywood on the opened tailgate to distribute the weight and yes, the truck was squatting bad.

I have always admired people with the discipline to own just one car and or motorcycle. My Elio's job will to make me smile. It won't replace anything in the garage or driveway, simply supplement them.

Mine will be replacing a Nissan Versa, Like others, I am nursing it along until the Elio shows up. It will primarily be a commuter car, but I suspect in the beginning it will be going to alot of car shows...

FUN, FUN, FUN!!! I will be planning on doing a 48 state run in my Elio. Perhaps we can get a group of Elio owners together to tour the country. Sure would be a blast. The Elio will be my every day driver.
