I hope he doesn't wate too long, I'm 78 now!I don't know if I'd like to see one in person. The temptation to drive off with it would be too great. Just kidding. I am like a child waiting for Christmas. With any luck I will still be alive next year and the keys to my Elio will be under the tree. Those are the things dreams are made of.![]()
It was explained to me in another thread that the cut-off is supposed to be 40,000 which should be, according to Elio's production rate projections, something like two to four months worth of production. Elio is saying that after a short initial run of one shift @ up to 500 a day, they're going to put on a second shift @ up to another 500 a day for a total of up to 1000 vehicles a day. Taking into consideration that they'll probably work 5 days a week (time and a half overtime gets pretty expensive), 5,000 units a week x 8 weeks = 40,000 units.Well, the way I understand it is the reservations will stop at their 1 year capacity. So my interpretation is that the very last person in the reservation line will get one by Sept 2016 (if production starts in Sept 2015 and there are no delays). Anyone else have any thoughts?
