Agreed. The newer halogens are good, fairly priced, and look nice.

But who knows where headlight tech will be by the time we see our Elio's.

How about an extra set of fog lights included in the headlight assembly. I've seen other cars that have this where it's an option that is easy to retrofit. As for LED lights, it the design of the reflector that's important. Some manufacturers just put in bulbs and not change the reflector, which makes them not operate very good at all. Thus the poor reviews.

Im two thumbs up for the headlight change and the fog lights would be a huge plus for me.

Yeah, Id drop the infinite skyz option because its kind of embarrassing to even offer at this point as tech has changed quite a bit.

I was originally automatic but now im thinking manual.

I was kind of hoping for some kind of top rear window vent that could be opened so air could flow better front to back. Could be powered or manual. Did they ever get around to doing something like that with the side windows in back? From my very limited time in the Elio, I noticed that the airflow for the driver was good, but the passenger, aka my dog, would dealing with pressure rushing in from the front. Perhaps just something as simple as a "vent" position on the rear hatch that lets it open a few inches and hold rather then fully open.

I would also like an aerodynamic marker light option on the front fender. Perhaps that could be the fog light on the front side and an orange or red light on its back side. Or a red and green if your feeling nautical.

You old timers have seen these but maybe some of the newbies might find them interesting. Here's the changes I would make to the Elio if I had my way.

    1. Make the trunk bigger.

    2. Move the license plate down to create a place for the name.

I would like a sunroof/vent for less than obvious reasons. If you are in an accident on the left side, it is possible that the door will not open. How are you going to get out? The window might be an option for smaller people as you need to contort to get past the steering wheel and then bend to go through the window. The sunroof could be used as an escape hatch.

I would also like a CB radio so I can talk with truckers. Might have to buy that separately. Hope access to power is easy.

Porsche has been installing a roof escape hatch on their GT3 Cup and GT3RSR's since the 991 came out. This is because those cars have fixed side windows (like many European racecars) and getting out even the passenger side is almost impossible. So, they added a escape hatch right over the driver. It's a nice design and even waterproof. You really have to look close to see that it's even there.

Another option is just do like Bo and Luke Duke. Never use the doors but you might want to skip sliding across the hood.

When I use the BLD method I end up with black cane tip marks on the finish.

Not only being more useful, I think it looks way better. I never liked the back end, reminds my of an old Prius.

I recall those mock-ups from past posts. I agree, that design would be nice and take care of my air flow issues. It would mean a significant frame and body change to the current design though. I wonder that seemingly small change would end up costing in the end.
