at no time did I say there wouldn't be rear capacity as well.

Elio's much ballyhooed trunk that is large enough to accommodate a golf bag with clubs, gets that space from having the back of the rear seat fold forward .... I have no clue if the concept of a folding seat back can be accommodated by the design of that part of the BEX .... further, with a goal of reducing weight having other storage areas makes a great deal of sense

Makes me wonder if the rear seat were removed completely then MPG should improve a little. Wonder how that would effect handling?

Maybe some confusion, the total weight is what it ends up as, what I am trying to is reduce the weight bias towards the rear of the car when carrying stuff.

The less weight at the rear end, the more stable the vehicle will be.

Sorry Mark, I was thinking ahead, after the vehicle is built. Is it possible for the rear end to become too light? I'm thinking of when you hit a pot hole with just the back wheel.

Took some searching but I found this from an earlier post. Looks good to me.

Rear weight is why I imagined a trailer rather than luggage rack or other sprung carriage that was discussed here (pre BEX), single wheel in trail of rear wheel, very light with little tongue weight.

You sure do good work.
ehwatt.... you just opened my eyes a bit. I didn't know single-wheeled trailers for bikes existed. That looks like a perfect solution to tie behind a BEX! Lightweight and streamlined too – riding behind the BEX's rear wheel.

Of course, that's why effort has gone into keeping the weight at the front as low as possible, so less lever weight transfer under braking and heavy cornering.

I have built in anti-dive into the front suspension as well to help limit weight transfer lifting the rear.

I'm thinking of when you hit a pot hole with just the back wheel.

I did discuss it earlier, the rear suspension is design to move rearwards as it goes up and over a bump, to lessen the impact. I have done this because it's going to be almost impossible to not hit things in the middle of the road sometimes, so the impact needed to be softened for both comfort and tire damage limitation.

This also creates anti-lift helping to keep the rear of the vehicle down as the braking rear wheel force pulls the swingarm pivot down.

I am working hard on this project in the background at the moment, the "business side of it" type stuff that absorbs a lot of time, and a bit slow on physical updates on the car itself just for the moment.

Hope you understand, without a business package to move forward, the vehicle doesn't get made.
