There have been people on the Elio Owners Facebook group who have asked questions at recent P4 events or sent an email to Elio Motors about this; the response has always been that the automatic transmission will cost extra.

I think Gary's comment was a little direct, but I don't know if Elio even knows yet. I've heard $0, $250, $300, $500 and $1,000. Until they settle on a specific transmission they won't be able to know.

Everything else on those pages of the website (Why Elio/Specs) are standard inclusions. The word available is not mentioned in that Transmission Mission statement or any of the other Spec statements.
