"The thing is, there are too many web sites, and not enough news. Everyone want their own web site, but none of them have the budget to hire people to actually, you know, do research, fact checking, and analyzing of the stuff they report. So it's all just a big circle jerk of everyone reposting crap they saw on some other site. None of them have a clue what's really going on, because they don't have the time to check it out, and wouldn't care even if they did. They post anything they can find so they get the hits, so they get the advertising dollars."

This is a real problem. If you just pick something from today's 3rd page news and search it 3 months from now, you'll see it regurgitated over and over again. Only thing that changes is the title. That's why they call it clickbait. A friend of mine knows this. His wife does this on the side. She never leaves home and while raising three kids, she brings in a few bucks by repeating old stories with a new pic and title. I suggest just do a news search on "Brad Pitt". You'll find the same story retold 200 times yet the title and pic is different. I don't blame the people writing the articles, it's the news sources that pay them so they can get that elusive clickbait.

It's just that when you closely follow Elio, you see this happen. Just replace Elio with Brad Pitt and you'll get the same type result. At this point might as well write an article with the title, "Trump wins the Presidency in the most unusual way." Then just cut and paste from 20 various articles from November and you have new news today.

On this particular story, a version also appeared on FOX NEWS Auto.
When you check the writers bio you find:

..."Ronan Glon is an American auto journalist and historian based in France. When not behind his computer or his camera, he can generally be found tinkering with one of his vintage European cars."...
(source - Digital Trends)

Would anyone like to bet that he has never been within 1000 miles of an Elio?
This is nothing but click bait!
