Good link. I'm all in on these lights if EM doesn't offer them as an option. In fact Can-Am would be smart to customize them for the Elio fender when the time comes.

The Can-Am Spyder does come from the factory with a basic fender lighting package so this kind of option is easy to add to a Spyder. The Elio will not likely come from the factory with fender lighting so I hope EM makes it relatively easy to add some. Either way the aftermarket will come up with solutions. It really should not be very difficult to splice into the turn signal/running light wires to enable this functionality and depending on how everything is laid out it may be possible to create some pass through connectors for the front headlight/turn signal assembly allowing for a nice plug and play wiring solution for running and signal light functions.

I've read through this post before and now again...still not understanding the reason to see the fenders? I mean, are you driving in a black hole somewhere where they don't have streetlights or will there only be you and one other car on the road next to you that you fear he will crash into your fender?
Not sure I get the OVERSAFE people on here with these ideas to not only make the vehicle more expensive but heavier and more to repair.

People where I am have a bad tendancy to squeak by you at high speed, I've been worried about being sideswiped or losing my mirrors on my regular car many a time.

This vehicle has a very different profile than just about anything else on the road. As a motorcycle rider my experience tells me that being different means people are not expecting you so they will do all kinds of dumb stuff around you. Any motorcycle rider will tell you that it does not matter if it is a dark night or a bright sunny day as either way people will still do stupid things like pull out right in front of you or attempt to fit their car into your lane. In my opinion adding some extra lighting on the fenders is a fairly inexpensive way to attempt to draw attention to the fact that this vehicle is different which should help keep us safe.

I was driving an old 66 passenger school bus on a 4 lane street in Toledo, Ohio and had a car speed up, pass me and immediately step on the brakes and turn into a parking lot in front of me. He was very lucky he did not get hit because that old bus was not known for a quick response. Some people are simply too stupid to realize they have no business driving. :-) Z

Sad part is I know you are right on as just last month, on my way home from my vacation, I was riding in the passenger seat of an RV when a lady, distracted by chatting on her phone, actually attempted to change lanes right into the side of the 12 foot tall RV. Luckily she only ended side swiping us and trading some paint but it is amazing that she could be distracted enough not to notice she was driving into the side of an object that size.
