I have to agree with two points.
1) Gas prices don't seem to be a factor for Elio success right now.
2) But they do and will mater in the future. Maybe the near future too. 1, 2, 5 years from now, whatever, it will matter.

Now if on the other hand, if we did see a price spike, yes much heavier interest in the Elio in the moment.
So whatever projections are out there for the volume of sales, yea, double that when fuel prices go up into $4+ territory.

I built my first high-mileage trike just at the end of the OPEC controversy in 1982. I always knew there would be a time again, which has came and passed in the 2000's. The cycle will repeat again, as all cycles do.

I don't wonder too much how high in the lists of things to think about Elio-type cars places for OPEC. I know it does, just not too high right now.

I live out on a ranch. If I need to go into town to get half a gallon of milk I have the following gas cost just to get there at $2.00 /gal.
In my F150 4x4 --- 60 mile round trip = $8.00
In my Creamsickle Elio --- 60 mile round trip = $2.00
I like my truck, but the economics are obvious.
