Welcome to Elio Owners! Join today, registration is easy!
You can register using your Google, Facebook, or Twitter account, just click here. All I asked was for current information, about the plant or elsewhere, that would show if Elio was gearing up for production. Why?, Because it will take them 12-18 months to build out the plant and if there are signs of progress there now, then it would be a good predictor of when the Elio will be available.
I hoped to read that Elio had started moving equipment around, that the assembly line was being modified to handle three wheels, that they were accepting applications and screening employees. That Electricians were moving power, that millwrights were hired to set up the machines, that the body dies were being built and the subcontractors were staring to set up their lines for producing parts. That delivery trucks were being modified for shipping, or that the first 100 reservationists were being invited to a party to pick up their Elios. I really hoped I would read something that showed there was a flurry of activity in the plant in Louisiana and hopefully it was not just a locked up building.

Is there a map or list of which states currently require a motorcycle endorsement much like the helmet map?
My check engine light in two of my vehicles are constantly on. I had them checked and they are faulty O2 sensors. I'm not really concerned about them, so after about a year of taking it to my mechanic and having him reset the light, I bought my own reader that can reset them. Now I reset them every couple of weeks (after verifying that the error code is the same error and not something different).I hope this light operates in the two-step fashion which has become more common in recent years where if the light comes on you still have time to get off the road as this is a warning however once it starts flashing then you know you are hosed. We will see.
By the way this is the way many idiot lights work in many cars today and actually is the way the check engine light is supposed to work by law. Of course your best bet is always to avoid having the lights come on in the first place however if one of those lights come on make sure to check it out right away as once it does start flashing you can bet you are causing some damage.

Interesting story:
I was concerned about the ethical dilemma of resetting the code right before getting it inspected, thus having it pass inspection when it probably should have failed. I know the cost to fix is over a thousand dollars, and I frankly don't care if the O2 sensor is bad or not. I stewed about this for a few weeks thinking, I can save a thousand dollars by just turning off this stupid light, but is that ethical and is it lying? So I decided that I would NOT turn off the light and if it didn't pass inspection, I would have to get it fixed.
Wouldn't you know it, three days before getting the car inspected, the light went out on it's own and the day after it passed, the light came back on. No lie. I consider myself blessed!![]()
