Not to sound like the late Andy Rooney here, but didja ever notice that the government's alphabet agencies were never authorized by the constitution? It sorta works like the 9th and 10th amendments, the rights not enumerated and powers not delegated provisions that limit the federal government to only those specific functions called out in the Articles and Amendments. Those two Amendments are routinely ignored as the federal government draws power to itself - powers that were intended to reside with the individual states.

Under our constitution as written, our federal government is only allowed to print currency, make treaties, defend our shores, and deliver the mail. Departments of State, War, and Treasury were created within weeks of the signature of the constitution. Later the Interior and Post Office followed suit and the AG was elevated to Cabinet level. That's about it. Today we have 15 cabinet posts and 7 cabinet-level offices, most of which were political sops - created by career politicians to look good to the home folks.

Where did we go wrong? They must've had to expand the boardroom to accommodate 22 department heads - and that doesn't even address the President's 38 "Czars" that have no constitutional basis, but make policy unsupervised by responsible authority. Ever heard of the "Asian Carp Czar"? We got one. John Goss, Asian Carp Director. How's that for an impressive title? Well, you and I are paying his salary . . . and while we're looking at this particular government office, doesn't putting an entire agency on the trail of Asian carp sound a little like profiling? o_O

hey, did you also notice-
Art I Section VIII
"The Congress shall have the power to regulate commerce ........ and with the Indian Tribes" (my bold)
To Establish Post offices, and post roads"?? hmm,can't remember the last Post Road,

Art II section IV ( I live Roman numbers)
"No person held in Service or Labor in one State, under the laws thereof, and escaping into another......"
Well, the Constitution goes allow slavery??

There is reference to pirates in there too.
So Woman Can't vote?

If it was complete as written, and should be the "Law of the Land"- Why was it then necessary to amend it,??

Selective, Fundamental interpretation where we think it justifies our positions is narrow in posture and thin on reality.
Those very silly folks who think we don't need, for example the ability to collect taxes (IRS) or other National "Controls" to keep this Republic functioning
are thinking not in the best interest of keeping this "experiment" alive
Last, this discussion is not resolvable amongst "us" (being all citizens). We each live in our own "bubbles" reinforced by things that we agree with, and rejecting that which doesn't- that's why we elect folks.

There is not an infinite supply of fossil fuels
There will be shortly, not enough potable water for the planet (Think Solent Green)

My last post on this topic, I still want my Yellow &
I like it so much better when you guys discuss the muffler route! Which I haven't a clue, but it sure makes for an interesting read.

Our founders were pretty smart fellows. They knew it would require changes from time to time and wrote Article V to cover those times. They also made it tough to change. There is no provision for one man to arbitrarily do it.
Of course climate change is real. Just look at the ice age and the little ice age.
I'd use hydroxy if it was perfected. When it burns it produces H2O. We wouldn't need catalytic converters.
I liked Soylent Green. Leigh Taylor-Young looked good in that short dress. Haven't seen it in a while.
How would you route the exhaust pipe and muffler?

Not even a clue how to route the exhaust, there are many car savvy folks here kicking it around, and in the end EM's engineers will make the decision I just want a good sound out of it. A CAT back?

Anyone that would load their drawers with explosives, shows a level of commitment that can't be protected against. How far of a stretch would a C4 suppository be for individuals with this mindset?....answer: Depends on the diameter of the suppository! :D

I thought the size of the ass ho*le would be the determinant, but using a mallet I guess you could ...........
