Not wanting to get into a political argument here. Just trying to find a "balance" in my perspective. As a taxpayer we have virtually no say about how that money is spent. If the government chooses to loan, grant or give some of that money to EM, I am all for it! Compared with some of the "pork barrel" projects, the ELIO has real merit!

I think its such a good way to use taxpayer money it almost guarantees it won't happen.
Does that make me a pessimist?

Not at all, let Pay Pal handle the transactions. For me a larger chunk of money can always be used for todays issues, a smaller amount could be tucked away easily-for a speculative purpose.
I have an admitted bias against PayPal dating back to when I lived in Reno. I have never had a PayPal account and I am constantly be hounded to update my information to keep it current. I simply don't trust them even though everyone else feels safe. :-) Z

Agree that it's not about politics.
If yours is one of 7,000+ "Elio" letters sent to the DOE...
and they feel EM has met the rest of their requirements...
and they decide @ 7,000+ letters that they just can't take the onslaught anymore...
Then I propose that you would have just had a say in how that money is spent.
It's a rather naive way of looking at it, but yeah, it matters.

If you don't like federal support for major technological innovations, then don't help Elio get there by writing to the DOE. You can vote by your silence and inaction. And please do! This thread is about helping Elio, not discussing the merits of governmental programs in general. Enough politics. It's inappropriate in this thread and on this forum.

If you DO want to support Elio by writing the DOE, now would be great time to write that letter.

I have had a pay pal acct (has been canceled) and have had the same experience. There is also some copy cat sites that try to act like they are pay pal with the intent of getting your bank acct info. I choose to stay away from pay pal.

I'm not political or religious and don't discuss either it's a lose lose. My comments were non-political with hopes that EM's Government Loan Application is approved because Elio is of major benefit to the lower income families........and it is a low interest loan. A good bi-partisan Government does play a role in Elio's success whether we like it or not. Heck, Elio has a government relations specialist on staff working on regulation changes to advantage Elio owner's. I would like to hear Elio's opinion on letter writing before I do so.

Ok... So I am completely new to the idea and perspective of this 185 DE loan applied by Elio.... I have looked up all the information I can find on the forums and internet about it... Just curious about two things..

1... How likely do you feel that the loan meets all its restrictions and qualifications, 10 being awesome and 1 being crapola; because we all know that governing bodies are going to try everything to stop a great startup and free enterprise such as this... *dont want to start a political debate.. just stating a feeling* (which is why I am currently working on the letter to send to the Department of Energy).

2... Did they not apply for this Advanced vehicle loan guarantee recently... How long does it take to review and get confirmation of their approval? (barring full well that the Oil mongers are more likely to thwart something that has this effect of their Oil need... more mileage on MPGs means less time at the pump, which means less monetary funding for Oil tycoons *no offense* )
