The wait was 1 hour, but was made bearable by the enthusiasm around me. A guy drove from Colorado Springs to Broomfield (about a 2-hour trip) and kept saying, "this is only going to make me go crazy waiting for delivery." He went all-in a year ago and has visualized many Elio trips great and small -- all of them fun.
Another guy, a mechanical engineer and car enthusiast, learned about the Elio through Jalopnik. He had detailed questions and seemed to get ever more interested as we filled him in on the details we've read here. He asked questions about the frame and I showed him the pix posted on this forum of the P1 (just a skeleton before green skin made it P2).
My wife was and still is leery of the Elio -- she felt cramped in the back seat. I'm not sure it matters. The Elio likely will be our third car, with just me in it 98 pct of the time. The teenager acted like she wasn't impressed, which might mean she is. Or not.
All ages were in the line, though it skewed to Baby Boomer males.

At least you seen the Elio up close and personal. . . . . . . , I live in Louisiana, not very far from where the zelio will actually BE BORN, and they have postponed and reschedule the showing here at least 4 times in the last 6 months.

I know what that feels like! I work in Tempe where the Elio2 and 3 existed before they went on tour. I tried to see one any of the cars at the shops starting in 2008. Never could find anyone there. So I thought it was a vaporware project just like.. well, that fuel vapor car. But then ElioMotors became more into their public exposure phase and I was sold. Finally they had the p3 at the country fair (at that point I wrote my article for 3wheelers.com) and the p4 here in Tempe earlier this year. So I have sat in both at this point.

I was impressed with the solid feel and sound of the door closing, and you can hear that on the video, too. Sure, there are minor trim issues, but mechanically this prototyped looked, felt and sounded solid.

I came home from the mall and upgraded to $1k....

Well, one things for sure... The door hinges and latching mechanism are getting a solid test!
