Why Not Buy A Geo Metro Or 1st Gen Insight?

1. Why is it not in the proto type? Im assuming you have more details here so I will look that up.

2. I thought they were having plant issues?

3. They need a lot bigger of a campaign imo. I'm assuming though if/when its closer they will hit hars.

4. Numbers!!!! I underdtand aero, but would like to see numbers.

5. You are assuming they have started hiring now.

What would sell me is if an outsider contributed a lot of funding. Usually great ideas/concepts will be bought. Think of "shark tank" in a way - I know its a stretch

Well said, Craig. I'm glad you took the high road and didn't just try to out-troll a troll, as it were. He's asking a lot of questions in an indignant manner that have already been answered. I liked your "But that would suck driving it to work every day." answer. That was kind of funny. It looks like the pieces are coming together and the reason people like to jump on it is because they've never actually seen so much of the process going on during the creation of a car company. The last real car company that I remember getting off the ground was Tesla and he started with more money than God. (Well, close, anyway)

The engine just got built and wasn't ready till after the first quarter this year. They were not having plant issues but the press had made some errors and it seemed like that Elio was having issues. The plant is basically a done deal. Their campaign is unlike any other, I'll give you that. They are probably the first company that has used ONLY social media to get the word out and it's working. We are still a year away from production and yet 16,000 people have said "I want one and am willing to put some of my own money out there to make sure I get one". Now, 16,000 doesn't make a successful car company (does it?) but it is a really good start. I don't have aero numbers but I think they are available. I'm assuming they'll start hiring people when they need. It would be silly to hire a bunch of factory workers to stand around. They won't have a problem finding people a month or two before production starts. They'll have to hire some engineers and some people to move some equipment around and set things up but not all the people.

*No, 90 days out. Most have worked at the plant all ready.

*Shark tank is not the way to go. Why start a business and give away 55% from jump? They don't need someone to tell management how to run a business they all have been working in for 20 to 30 year.

I've read through all 6 pages of this thread and agree with Chris F to put this guy on my don't follow list. I do not understand why people who are so opposed to the Elio even bother to get on this forum. They certainly have nothing positive to add. He would be better off to go find a Geo forum and play in that arena

Yea, it's pretty sad. This tool made a thread on the Geo Metro forum and posted a link to ours and encouraged people to come over here and stir crap up.

I thought that's why you drive a Geo in the first place- good mpgs to deliver pizza. Better save that money for a better car because you sure aren't impressing anybody
