...Unless one branch has a pen and a Blackberry. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the "checks and balances" of the three branches aren't so 'balanced'...and haven't been for some time. It's easy for me to point out a problem from my "arm-chair", but damned if I know how to fix it if the elected representatives flip-flop on the issues they ran on to get elected. :(

Elected representatives make laws.
That's what we elect them to do.
Agencies do not make law. They promulgate regulations that are supposed to implement the laws enacted by elected representatives.
Congress has the lawful right to regulate governmental agency's actions.
Right, elected officials enact laws...however, "staff", (those are the "bureaucrats" spoken of) generally lead and advise elected officials in deciding which laws they will introduce, prepare synopses, write the actual verbage of the law, and, help implement the laws once passed. This is true from city governments to the federal government.
Between bureaucrats and courts, most of the actual work of writing, tweaking, and interpreting our laws is taken out of the hands and workload of most elected officials.

Sorry to get your blood pressure up, William, but it was kind of the gist of the thread (EPA/ridiculous regulations). ;)

...And "at this moment in time, and due to change", I'm going with Creamsicle, Automatic (bad clutch knee, lots of traffic to deal with), premium seat (624 hrs. of 'seat time' per year), and a premium stereo (not Skyzmatic) would be sweet.


Again, sorry to ruffle your feathers, but I do like, and agree with, your viewpoint on the Gov't.

"based on bull sh*t"?? well there are many laws concerned about BS- one of the most polluting CO2 emissions on the planet comes out a bovine's rear-lol. When do you guys sleep? I turn-in at a normal 11-12, awake 7 to see threads yards long!!
I'm thinking the animal related excessive CO2 emmissions problem will be offset by getting the high mpg Elio on the road as quickly as possible and then it will be totally eliminated by future test tube beef production.

Wouldn't it be nice if they had to write their own stuff?

Actually, I believe it's methane that's the issue. So we need to bottle the stuff and run it in our Elios all the way to the butcher shop. :D
