1971? Me too.
Bought my first bike in 1970, a 1968 Yamaha twin 2-stroke. The second bike I bought in 1973, and I still own it, a 1964 Ducati 250 scrambler.

Go Elio. I hope to own the Elio for about 30 years before I pass it on to my Grand Kids, or maybe a Great grand Kid. My oldest grandson is 11 and already eyeing my CX500 Honda. My 3 sons are trying to work out who gets the Ducati, the XT500 and the KLR. The Ducati is kind of stalled in mid-restoration, as you can see by the photo.

Hmmmm. Seems a common thing with some of us Elio folk. Got my first motorcycle at 12, 62 now. Don't tend to keep them for very many years. Have owned over 80... First bike was a 1964 Parilla 125 Wildcat Scrambler. It was used as a flat tracker before I got it. Have had 2 CX500's and one GL500 Interstate. Neat bikes.
Had a Piaggio MP3 500 for about a year. Three wheel scooter with independent front suspension so the bike leaned in the corners but you could lock it when you parked so it would stand up on it's own. Weird but kind of fun. I think I owned that (plus 8 other bikes...) when I put the 'all in' on the Elio.

Started off with a Sears 4hp mini bike, then a new 1971 Honda CL100 for my first real motorcycle then in 1974 I bought a new 1974 Sportster XLH1000 because of the TV show Then Came Bronson. I have a 1968 Bronson replica (avatar) owned dozens of bikes over the years. Currently ride a 2013 Honda CB1100.

I started riding in 1965, started racing Speedway in 66 on a Suzuki 250, and the scary part was, No Fear of doing 90 on dirt, I have no idea how many bikes I've owned over the years, minibikes, Harley's new and old (road a 1942 WLA with the stunt team) Hondas, Yamaha's, Kawi's (I hate Kawi 900's too much frame flex) and 1 Corvair power trike flip over; the motor was reversed so it was ahead of the rear axel, and I sat between the carbs, would do wheel stands at 70 by just cranking on the throttle, 2 speed automatic. had to stop riding in 1998, my back just revolted on me; I blew apart 3 disks in my lower back in 1993, had broken my neck before that, paying the price now for all those years of abuse I imposed on myself.

My first bike was a 1969 CL100, bought in 1975. Have had lots of different bikes over years. Current bike is a 2015 Yamaha Super Tenere.
