If the delivery charge is $750 then I might as well have it delivered to the Albuquerque Distribution Center. I originally thought it would be fun to fly to Shreveport and pick it up at the factory but not if I still have to pay a delivery fee. I will have waited for at least 18 months for my Elio and for $750 can certainly wait a few more days.

All true. However, it'd be really neat if the factory visit included getting to watch your Elio come down the line. Seeing that would make the trip worth it. You would be able to say "Yeah, I saw this one come off the line and drove it home from the factory itself."

I read on another thread today that Elio is considering a 3-day 2-night factory tour package at a local casino. It that is correct it may certainly make me reconsider when and how I take delivery of my Elio

That was my original plan but if I have to pay a $750 delivery charge it is much cheaper to take delivery here in New Mexico than to fly to Shreveport and take two days to drive back home. Too old to do it in one day anymore

If the price for picking it up at the plant is the same for having it delivered to you then that is THE PRICE.
THE PRICE is supposed to be $6,800. If they are already laying a line of BS with, well the price is $6,800 but you have to pay an additional $750 for delivery, even if we do not deliver it.
So the "new" price(provided they get to the $6,800 pretend price before adding on a sizable profit of the $750) would be $7,550 plus tax and tag....plus options.
Now "he" hasn't done that yet, but by pretending that he is no longer in control and "The Sales Team" is now determining the cost is showing "he" isn't achieving anything close to his goal.

Right around $6,800 (plus options) is what it should cost to roll it out of the end of the plant, screw staying in Shreveport.

I think my Elio will be right around 7500 with the options I want. I'll probably have it shipped to me as it's a solid 3 day drive home from LA. If it will ready in the summer, I'd be more keen to take a road trip but if it's in the fall or winter, forget about it. I'd like to have it by Xmas 2015 if possible so I can show off to my family

I am hoping to have my before summer 2015 and spring would be even better but I think that is unrealistic since my number will be in somewhere in the 3500 range.
